Tax Manager

The right candidate for the Tax Manager position will have more than the basic technical skills of tax preparation and tax return technical review. The right candidate will also excel at communicating both verbally and in writing with clients, and is looking to provide great customer service to our clients through the responsibilities of multiple client deliveries. This person will have significant input working with the tax director and this position has great growth potential.

Qualifications for Tax Manager:

  • Prior CPA firm experience 5 to 8 years
  • CPA license required
  • Ability to develop excellent client relationships
  • Experience with tax preparation software such as Ultratax, Prosystem FX, or Lacerte
  • Experience communicating results to clients
  • Experience with managing and reviewing client/staff and work/expectations
  • Ability to complete projects accurately and on-time
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and other MS Office skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good at meeting deadlines
  • Ability to travel (currently less than 10%)

 

Tax Manager Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a full range of tax services for corporations, partnerships, trusts, individuals, non-profit entities in compliance with laws and regulations within necessary timeframes
  • Build relationships and interact with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting and expertise
  • Interest in ways to develop firm outside of tax compliance
  • Provide innovative tax planning and review complex income tax returns
  • Identify and mitigate client tax risks
  • Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices
  • Maintain tax balances on general ledger
  • Prepare or review all tax workpapers in regular basis and handle all information data requests
  • Work in coordination with Tax Director on management and training of staff
  • Complete financial statement compilations and reviews
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations as needed
  • Assist on various accounting engagements
  • Work with a team of accounting professionals
  • Prepare tax planning analysis for clients

Senior Tax Accountant

The right candidate for the Senior Tax Accountant position will have the basic skills of tax preparation and compliance, but also excels at communicating both verbally and written, with an eye on great customer service to our clients through the responsibilities of multiple client deliveries.  Although this may be a position for a senior tax accountant, this person will have significant input working with the tax director and this position has great growth potential.

Qualifications for Senior Tax Accountant:

  • Prior CPA firm experience 2 to 4 years
  • CPA license required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Experience with tax preparation software such as Ultratax, Prosystem FX, or Lacerte
  • Experience communicating with clients
  • Ability to complete projects accurately and on-time
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good organizational ability with multiple projects
  • Ability to travel (currently less than 10%)

 

Senior Tax Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, trusts, individuals and non-profit entities
  • Communicate directly with clients and client staff
  • Complete financial statement compilations and reviews
  • Research and develop complex tax situations
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations as needed
  • Assist on various accounting engagements
  • Work with a team of accounting professionals
  • Prepare tax planning analysis for clients
  • Assist on audit engagements
